In the Islamic World, the clerics replaced the drug dealers, they are the ones doing the intoxication now. It is the time in the Islamic World to seperate "The Religion of Clerics and the Religion of Quran.Islam like every other religion has been corrupted by innovations, traditions, and false, idolatrous doctrines which are used by the clerics to create intoxicated followers

La illaha ilallah

24. La illaha ilallah

A Hadith of the Prophet (saw) states
"Whoever says La illaha ilallah (There is no god but Allah) will enter paradise whatever he may have done."
This gives the impression that no good efforts are required and not even belief and that all the instructions in the Quran are futile. You can steal, kill and commit adultery as much as you like.
In this sense the Hadith is completely incompatible with the Quran:-
"And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for. And that his striving shall be seen." 53:39-40
"The true believers are those only who believe in Allah and His messenger and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the cause of Allah. Such are the sincere." 49:15 See also 61:11
"Allah has conferred on those who strive with their wealth and lives a rank above the sedentary. Unto each Allah has promised good, but He has bestowed on those who strive a great reward above the sedentary." 4:95
"Deemed ye that ye would enter paradise while yet Allah has not determined those of you who really strive, nor those who are steadfast?" 3:142
"As for those who strive in Us (the cause of Allah), We surely guide them to Our paths, and lo! Allah is with the good doers." 29:69
"Guard yourselves against the day when ye shall return to Allah; then shall each soul be paid what it has earned, and they shall not be wronged." 2:281
"Allah guides not those who do evil." 5:108, 3:85, 9:19,24,80,109, 28:50 etc
"Whoever does good, it is for the good of his own soul and whoever errs, he errs only to its injury." 39:41
"Each soul be paid what it has earned, and they shall not be wronged."2:281

Therefore, the Hadith is either false or it must have a different interpretation.
(There are variations of this hadith:- "say sincerely..." and "bear witness that...." "dies knowing that...". It is not clear whether these are separate hadith referring to other things. Therefore, they are vague, appearing to contradict or complement each other.)
The following explanations are the most likely ones:-
(1) That the only unforgivable sin is unbelief in Allah or associating partners with Allah or worshipping something other than Allah. Everything else can be forgiven if there is sincere repentance.
(2) That belief in Allah carries with it certain obligations to strive on His behalf. That we must make effort, but it is not the success which counts, but the striving.
(3) That we are not judged by any particular action but the overall balance of the good and evil we do and rewarded accordingly.

The reason why the denial of the existence and Unity of Allah is to be regarded as the greatest and the only unforgivable sin may be understood from: -
"Be not as those who forgot Allah, therefore He caused them to forget their own souls. Such are the evil doers. " 59:19
The denial of Allah is also the denial of one's own soul. This is to deny one's spiritual existence, leaving only the body and mind which will certainly perish on death.

We can learn a few lessons from this discussion:-
(1) That there is difference between knowing something e.g. the hadith and understanding it. Both are also different from living it, as when we witness that there is no god but Allah.
(2) That it is dangerous to let a hadith stand by itself or over ride the Quran. The Hadith should be interpreted by the Quran.
(3) That the quotation of a Hadith without explanation can be dangerous and misleading and therefore, do a disservice to the community.
